Gulfstream Announces SAV MRO Expansion

Bigger, Better, Faster, More

On 06 April 2023, Gulfstream Aerospace, the Savannah, Georgia-based manufacturer of iconic business aircraft and wholly-owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, announced the continued expansion of its Gulfstream Customer Support Savannah-based Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) footprint at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV). The facility’s latest expansion will create 250 new jobs and add significantly to Gulfstream’s pair of extant Savannah-based service centers—the most recent of which opened in 2019.

The ongoing expansion of Gulfstream’s Savannah service center represents a $98.5-million investment and an additional two-hundred-thousand-square-feet of work and office space. What’s more, the expansion continues the strategic global growth of Gulfstream’s Customer Support network. After the fashion of all new Gulfstream facilities, the new Savannah service center has been designed and is being built with sustainability in mind.

Gulfstream president Mark Burns stated: “We are excited to announce the latest development in Gulfstream’s support of the growing demand for our fleet around the world. Continued investments in state-of-the-art products, modern customer support facilities and our communities set Gulfstream apart in our industry, and we are grateful to our partners at Savannah/Hilton Head airport, the Savannah Economic Development Authority and the Georgia Department of Economic Development, among others, for their support for our growth in the region.”

Upon its completion, the new SAV Gulfstream Customer Support MRO facility will add additional resources in a wide range of services, including scheduled routine inspections, avionics installations, interior refurbishments, and Aircraft On Ground (AOG) services. The facility is expected to open in early 2024.

Gulfstream’s announcement of its SAV MRO facility expansion follows recent expansions of the company’s Mesa, Arizona; Fort Worth, Texas; Farnborough, England; Palm Beach, Florida; Appleton, Wisconsin; and Van Nuys, California Customer Support centers.
