New Order Expands Training Fleet to the Tune of 56 Aircraft
The Leadership in Flight Training, or LIFT Academy, has expanded its training fleet with a recent order with Diamond Aircraft, bringing on 56 new planes.
The deal sees LIFT gain 50 new single-engine DA40s, and 6 twin-engine DA42s. The training facility has continued to expand thanks to a steady pipeline of students, some coming in from Republic Airways on one hand, and just as many brought into the industry thanks to record pay for airliners on the other. As such, LIFT has had to stretch operations a bit, bringing in fresh aircraft to take advantage of record attendance.
The school has its roots in its corporate owner, Republic Airways Holdings, where it was specifically designed from the outset to align with the same Part 121 training that line pilots will see in the meatiest part of their careers. Republic Airways says it's the only regional carrier to have established its own pilot training academy along those lines, since students "train from day one for a career" with them. Their friends in the industry bring in even more students courtesy of American, Delta, and United Airlines, too.
"We are enthusiastic about expanding our fleet with additional DA40 NG and DA42-VI aircraft from Diamond Aircraft, reflecting our successful ongoing partnership," said Ed Bagden, Director, Flight Operations and Academic Programs, LIFT Academy. "These aircraft are chosen for their advanced technology and fuel efficiency, which not only align with our sustainability efforts but also closely mirror the aircraft our pilots will operate at Republic Airways. This strategic expansion ensures that LIFT Academy continues to offer industry-leading training, preparing our students with a seamless transition to their careers as airline pilots."
